The First Locos Have Left the Station | Locomotive Asset Allocation & Next Stops

It was an incredible experience watching the first Locomotive drops sell out in seconds. We’re humbled and motivated by the trust placed in us by the NFT community. This Initial Locomotive sale was limited in size and heavily discounted to award the early supporters of our project. We had no idea that our community would grow so fast!
So… Now what? The ToC team met this afternoon to discuss how we can best serve the community of Railroaders moving forward. The terms that came up over and over again in the meeting were scope, and context.
Scope
The Locomotive cards released on June 19th will be critical components in the Train of the Century game — you will need to have one to make a rail run and earn $Tocium.
While each new player will get a starter locomotive (unreleased) when joining the game, it probably won’t satisfy the wild Railroader within.
What we’re trying to say is… we’re going to need some more Locos.
Similarly-structured, Play-to-Earn NFT games have players in the hundreds of thousands and though we’re not there yet, we need to plan for a player base of this size. This is where context comes into play.
Context
Effectively communicating the context of the ToC drops is important, particularly when it comes to announcing additional pack sales, and addressing fears of dilution. We’re talking about Asset Allocation.
Let’s take a look at the potential mints (So Far) of Locomotives from:
1. The Prize Packs
2. The Locomotive sale yesterday.
3. Reserved packs for giveaways and contributors.

There are a total of 2,450 Locomotives that can be minted at this point, way less than the amount needed for the scope of the game.
How many locomotives will there be?
It’s important to remember that this game is about trains, and time travel. While we don’t anticipate additional centuries becoming playable before 2022, make sure to remember that the numbers of locomotives we’re talking about here are for the first playable century, dubbed appropriately, “The Modern Century”.
There will be a total of 38,450 possible locomotives for the Modern Century. Subtracting the current potential of 2,450 — The remaining 36,000 Locomotives will be dispersed over:
1. An early supporter whitelist sale (June 23rd-Form Closed) — 1,800 Mint Potential
2. Official Locomotive Sale Part 1 (July 3rd) — 17,100 Mint Potential
3. Official Locomotive Sale Part 2 (Late Q3 2021) — 17,100 Mint Potential
This 2-part Official Locomotive release will make acquiring a locomotive more accessible than the first drop, the prices however, will not be discounted.

This staggered release schedule of Modern Century Locomotives in Quarter 3 will coincide with the ongoing release of:
🚂 Pack drops (Conductor, Commodity, Rail Car, and Passenger Packs)
🚂 Tocium Tokenomics
🚂 Additional game mechanics and insights
This release strategy aims to gradually shift Locomotive NFTs from a speculative valuation, to a valuation based on in-game utility (demonstrated through our communications).
Thank you Railroaders for your incredible support, we’re so excited to show you more of what we’ve been working on!
